Hunting Lodge, Ile-de-France

The wing of this château near Paris was entirely restructured, so as to provide the ultimate comfort; it was redecorated in the spirit of an elegant country house. Pieces of 18th-century furniture were carefully selected and sensitively restored. On the ground floor, the entrance hall, the sitting room and the dining room were paved with salvaged terracotta tiles. Elsewhere, a Regency-style fireplace was incorporated, while a staircase with a carved oak banister was designed to connect the ground and the upper floor.
The striped carpet in the bedrooms upstairs was made to measure, using a blend of colours found in the curtains. The bathrooms are lined with Charente brown stone and furnished with bespoke shelves and cupboards, as are the en-suite dressings.
